New Dog Painting

Meet Miss Daisy...my latest commission for a very dear friend in Washington, D.C.~Daisy is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, known for liking to frolic with yellow tulip tree leaves in the fall. What a sweet girl...and a joy to paint.

We're getting another big storm here in Colorado...supposed to dump another foot of snow on us by tomorrow night. This is the snowiest December I can remember in the 10 years we've lived here. Abby is getting a little p'oed that she can't get out in her stroller lately though...too much ice and too bumpy for the princess. She was featured in the JustPetStrollers.com blog recently. Take a looksie here.

New Year Message of Kindness

Abby Louise says hi!

I ran across a PSA today from the Boulder Valley Humane Society. I think it's a great message to start 2007 out with. You can view it here on Youtube.com. Hope everyone is having nice, relaxing post Christmas Day!

Snow Day!

We've had quite the major storm here in Boulder, Colorado! That's me in our front yard standing behind 3 feet of snow. Haven't been able to drive anywhere, the airport is closed and we've had no mail for three days. Feeling a liiiiiiitle cut-off from the rest of the world...but in a way...it's been kind of nice to be home and hunkered down with James and Abby. The only problem for Abby is that she can't find a pee spot in all that snow!

I'm taking some time off from painting between Christmas and New Year's. Feel the need to slow down and relish time with my family. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of surprises, fun and contentment.

New Dog Stroller!

Hope everyone is enjoying the last hustle and bustle before the big day. Abby's grandma from California just sent her a new doggie stroller for Christmas. Since Abby can't walk much besides around the yard any more...this will provide her with new legs. It's an all terrain pet stroller from JustPetStrollers.com. Here's a picture of Abby and James heading out on the maiden voyage last Saturday. Abby loved it. She sniffed, she looked, she just enjoyed being out in the world again. Warmed my heart. Thanks Grandma!

Snow Dog

This is one of my favorite pictures of Abby. She looks so sweet in the snow.

Things have been busy busy busy lately. Between commissions, Christmas shopping and taking care of little Abby...the days are flying by. I've been trying to do a lot of shopping on the web this year to avoid the long lines at the stores. I've been fairly successful but I will still have to get myself out there. Major ugg. A good site I found for dog treats is the Kool Dog Kafe. I love the Hanukkah Puppies.

Guess that's it for today. Have to get back to painting!

TGIF!

Whew! Long week...glad the weekend is rollin' around. Thought I would post my new still life today, "Pomegranates". Aside from my dog paintings (which are definitely my favorite subjects)...I also like to hone my painting skills with different subjects like fruit, objects, light, you name it. If you are interested in buying this particular painting, please email me.

Have you visited Aunt Sadie's website lately? It's a great site with really fun dog gifts for both people and dogs. I just purchased some of the "Reindog Rewards" doggie treats.

Thinking of a good friend

First of all...isn't this the cutest baby you've ever seen? This is Ruby...and I thought I should post her picture today just because it makes everyone feel good. She's also a little good luck charm.

A very dear friend of ours had surgery today to remove a cancerous kidney. We hope and pray that he recovers in tip top shape from this. If anyone can do it...he can. He's got a spirit that doesn't quit...and a heart as big as one can get. We love you, Steve. Get well.

December 1st!

I can't believe it's December 1st already! Figured it was time to try and launch into the holiday spirit. It already feels like the holidays here in Colorado...cold, snowy with lights popping up everywhere.

If you haven't seen this site already you should take a look at Indie Collective for holiday gifts. There are some very cool, artsy sites here.

Also...check out one of my favorite Colorado Artists, Jeanne Grove. She has some gorgeous paintings of Colorado and beautifully made quilts and dolls.

Have a great Friday everyone!
