I can't believe it's been a week since I last posted. I decided I'd best get back in the saddle today and blog...something!
The above "Yellow Tree" is a painting I did a couple of days ago. I just had to sit myself down and splatter some paint around and this is what I came up with. Getting back to painting has helped with the grief...and I've been working on a little Abby mixed media piece that makes me feel good. Hopefully I can show you that soon.
My sweet brother sent me a wonderful book of poems by Emily Margaret Stuparyk. The title of the book is " When Only The Love Remains - The Pain of Pet Loss". The poems are beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone who has lost a pet. The following is one of them called "Everywhere" and it really makes me think of Abby. Following the poem is a digital piece I did of Abby several years ago. It's always been one of my favorites...it is how I picture her now. Have a lovely weekend.
"EVERYWHERE"
Not anywhere,
Yet everywhere,
An empty red throne,
Curled up and sweet.
A spot by the window,
Her ghost lays quietly,
At times, moves stealthily
Through the room,
Searching for me.
I look no longer;
She's in every animal
I love,
In every animal I see,
Every animal I touch.
Living the rest of my days,
Without her, seems forever;
Optimism lies on the wings
Of a dove,
To carry me safely home.
Not anywhere,
Yet everywhere,
An empty red throne,
Curled up and sweet.
A spot by the window,
Her ghost lays quietly,
At times, moves stealthily
Through the room,
Searching for me.
I look no longer;
She's in every animal
I love,
In every animal I see,
Every animal I touch.
Living the rest of my days,
Without her, seems forever;
Optimism lies on the wings
Of a dove,
To carry me safely home.

I'm going to have to purchase that book. I love to read poems. And I just love the picture of Angel Abby. I wish I had one of Dallas. I see him as my angel now too! We miss him so much! Have a good weekend, Your Windy City Gang!
Linda:
How good it is to hear that you are painting again. I'm especially happy to know that you are working on a new Abby piece. I'm so looking forward to seeing it when it's done.
I will email you soon.

Your new piece is absolutely beautiful. And thank you for sharing the lovely poem (wasn't expecting to be crying with my coffee at 8:30 in the morning)... I woke up this morning missing my Chloe and can't believe she's been gone for over 2 months now. My heart will forever be filled with the love I had for the sweet doggie. Have a wonderful weekend.
It is good to see your latest work - I very much like it! The poem is beautiful and brought back memories of Hazel & made me give L. a hug too.)
The first thing that struck me when I saw Abby's angel pic is the happy grin on her face. What a beautiful angel she is!
And here's a hug for you!
Thanks for sharing the book of poetry...I will definately add it to my library...I love the digital portrait of Abby... what a sweet puppy angel!
Great to see you're back painting again Linda, it's a lovely piece, Abby would be pleased, as I'm sure she's the beautiful angel you created in your digital art, hovering over you as you work.
