A Gimpy Girl and a Golden

My sweet Maisie Rose
(not really wanting this picture taken!)

I know, I know...calling Maisie a Gimpy Girl is not very nice of me. We're actually calling her Pegleg now! Guess you gotta have a sense of humor in these cases. That's all you can do. I have to say though...isn't she cute with her new beautiful scarf on? My very special friend, Kate made it for her...thank you so much Kate! Seems her Chocolate Lab, Lytton has a crush on Maisie and wanted Maisie to be nice and warm here in Colorado this winter. And Kate...how did Lytton know it would match her cast?? That is too cute!

"Arcea"
12" x 13" acrylic on canvas

Here is another one of my Christmas commissions...of Arcea, a beautiful older Golden Retriever. He has the sweetest eye lashes...and heart to match. It was a pleasure to paint this boy.

Have a nice Thursday...tomorrow I will be back with pictures of two wonderful gifts I received for Christmas this year!

Oh Maisie,

You look adorable in your new scarf with that huge cast on. Lytton's just been to have a look ... and thinks Maisie is pretty amazing for letting her picture be taken. (She does have that look in her eyes of, How do I get out of this?)

Maisie must be trying to figure out ways of how to get that cast off!

OH Maisie Maisie! We gave you a little award (it's on our blog). Hopefully it will bring lots of positive healing energy for broken toes, and bring some new dog lovers to see some beautiful art.

all the best-

That is one BIG, PINK cast!! No wonder Maisie has that look on her face! Pono sends her kisses. That painting of the Golden is wonderful - look at the glint in that old boy's eye's! So cute.

Oh my goodness, LOOK at her!! Poor thing! She reminds me of Montgomery when he had his foot bandaged. At least it's flashy! Nice scarf, too. And your retriever painting is so lovely and soulful. The green background is perfect, too! Hugs, Shari

My very wise Irish grandmother used to say everything happens in 3s. So perhaps Maisie is just getting everything out of the way for years of smooth sailing and no more emergency vet visits for her parents.

Poor, sweet girl. I hope she's on the mend soon.

Linda: Poor, poor Maisie. Boy, she sure has been through the ringer, hasn't she? Well, she's still quite lovely even with her bright pink cast.

And...I have to say, you really captured the age in the Golden Retriever's eyes. I just want to reach in that painting and give that ol' dog a big hug.

Hi Linda,

Here is my take on this... I like to think that perhaps these things were going to happen to sweet Maise anyway but she happened upon wonderful loving people to take care of her whereas had she been adopted by someone else that may not have been the case... you "rescued" her ...

OMG! What a cutie pie Maise is all dressed up in her winter finery! Such a cute scarf and bootie to match! That is one stylin' puppy!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the painting of arcea! You did such a great job on the eyes... but you know what I love almost as much? The mouth -- I can almost feel that puppy's tongue! Such talent you have! Keep up the awesome work!

I don't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for Maisie. I guess a little bit of both, lol!

Look at the upside, she will have Popeye-leg by the time she gets that cast off, and when she lifts her hand to say "talk to the paw" people will listen!!

Love the sweet golden boy too Linda. He looks very soft.
