A Little Rain Storm

"Rain Storm"
6" x 7" acrylic on canvas
available on Etsy here

You should SEE my studio right now...if you could call it that! With Maisie needing a whole lot of attention and unable to do the stairs these next few weeks...I've had to move my studio up to the living room. Let's just say that it's not a pretty picture trying to live and work in one small room! We also had to store our dining room table for now and move the TV down from the loft into the living room. James carries Maisie upstairs at night when it's bedtime...but aside from that, the three of us are sharing a very small space. It's been pretty difficult to get a good block of time to paint...but I'm managing to squeeze in a half hour here and there during the day. I just finished the above piece.

James took the below picture over the weekend. Of course, I had to fool with it digitally so this is the result. As you can probably see, I have a treat in my hand that Miss Maisie the food monger is pretty interested in. We are trying to take a good photo (not so easy!) for a book I'm going to be in later this year. Can't tell you much about it yet until the publishing dates are set...but it's about people who devote their lives to dogs in some way. It's being written by two very talented women who live on the East Coast. I can't wait to see the final results!

I've got Maisie chewing on a bully stick right now...let's see how long that keeps her occupied this morning! Any bets?!

Linda, that picture of you two is just so sweet and you look simply BEAUTIFUl! I do hope that's the one you're sending... digital altering and all - it's too perfect. Love your rainstorm piece, too. I'm sitting here watching the drops come down in my own corner of the world right now. Couldn't be more fitting. Hugs, Shari

What a very lucky dog Maisie is to have found people who will take care of her like you have and do. You have a special place in doggie heaven. That's where I hope I go. I don't care if there are just a few people there and LOTS of doggies. Hugs... jaYne

What a wonderful photo of you and Maisie. I am sorry to hear your living space has been cramped. It is disruptive on many levels to have to move your studio around. Your new painting makes me wish for rain! Not likely, but I can hope.

Now we are both working in our living rooms because of our dogs. I love the photo of your a Maisie. Very cool book news. I love the colors in the painting !

That's a great picture of Maisie with you. She has a look of determination on her face!

I'm sorry to hear about the disruption to your studio and living area. That must be tough, but it certainly didn't affect your painting. I love the colours - they make me feel like dancing!

I also wanted to let you know that Lytton has been busy working on a meme. He tagged Maisie because he thought it would distract her from bothering her paw. Lytton had fun coming up with answers to five questions, especially since he was tagged by a family of cats.

I think it's great that you are participating in a book about dogs. That will be something to look forward to!!
Hugs for you and Maisie,
Kate

I love the photo of you and Maisie Linda. I love all the cool effects you can get with photo shop and other programs.

I have that with my guys too, sometimes they come in to bug me when I'm in the studio. Sometimes they seem annoyed that I'm there so I have to pack up for a while and go play with them. The other day I painted with Dudley on my lap becaue he felt like we should cuddle while I was trying to paint. : )

I really like your painting...it reminds me of gum drops falling from the sky. That is what I see when I look at it. Actually, I've had gum drops on my mind quite a bit lately, I've been seeing them wherever I look. I think I need to get some.... I've had a bit of a craving.

Hey- I think I have a shot of Fergie and I that looks just like that! I know that head tilted down sniffing at the hand look.

I can't wait to hear more about the book project. I should totally drive down there and take a photo of you guys for the book. :-)

LOVE that painting! And I also love the shot of you and Maise! That's the one thing that I regret -- I only have two photos of Logan and I together -- and none of us alone -- always with the other dogs. I need to teach Tom how to use my camera! This is great -- and congrats on the book, too -- that sounds amazing -- please let us know when its published!
