New art and seven things
Finally a new painting...yay! This is the first of a series I'm going to be working on called, "Inner Circle". This one was painted to symbolize a return to joy and color as a release from the inner conflict and sadness I've been feeling the last few months. It's a return to spring...sort of a new beginning for James, Maisie and myself after all we've been through together.
Now...on to seven things about myself that Miss Karine tagged me to do the other day (I think Pono put you up to this?) hee hee.
1) I used to be a real hippy chick in my early 20's...I wore feather earrings, knee high Native American Yeti boots and all clothing had to be purple.
2) I love watching the Food Channel. My foodie dream is to eat at one of Mario Batali's restaurants in New York.
3) I don't like shopping for clothes. I would rather do anything else.
4) A Psychic told me many years ago that I had two German angels watching over me. Years later I was befriended by two elderly sisters. They're German, in their 90's now...and they definitely ARE my guardian angels.
5) Old antique dolls give me the willies.
6) I love pastry. I ask you...is there anything better than a really good croissant?!
7) One of my very favorite Artist's is Amadeo Modigliani. I always wished that I could paint people like he did.
I'm being lazy now and won't tag anyone else this time but next time around...look out!
Gotta go check on Maisie now...she's getting to like her new found toe freedom but I need to keep the reins on her for a few more days. Little bundle of energy that she is!

What a delightful way to reclaim the joy and color in your life. Maybe we all should try it.
Happy March 4th to you.
Hi linda!
OH! I LOVE your new painting! It is wonderful and totally captures the wonderful spirit of happiness and new beginnings.
Your seven things made me smile. I especially love the two German sisters.
Hug Maisie and congratulate her for me and Emmitt on her new found toe freedom!
XO
Love the red & green here ...very intense. I can't wait to see what new things spring up in the studio as you regain your painting routine.
I just love your abstract piece. I've been looking at so much cute art lately that this is a refreshing return to my favorite kind of art. Hugs to the fur girl...
Love Modigliani too!
And your use of color is wonderful.
Congratulations on things looking up! I've been so busy wedding planning, but I'm finally re-entering the World again. I love this painting and the inspiration behind it.
As for your 7 things, I said "ME TOO!" to almost all of them. I'll think of you when I'm honeymooning in Paris this summer—-I'll get to eat real croissants and see my first in-person Modigliani's!
Love ya!

Ohhh that is so vibrant. I LIKE it a lot. Fun reading those things about you. There was a time all I wanted to wear was purple and I hate buying clothes too!!. I'd rather clean toilets.

First, I love the brightness and balance of this work!
And second, I am right with you on scary antique dolls...

A hippie chick!!! Now I NEVER ever would have guessed it. Ever!!! Fun stuff, Linda. I'll do your clothes shopping for you. I love it, but beware: I am a bargain shopper.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the new painting! So vivacious! It's great.
And I'm with you on Modigliani. Cool.
Your painting is fabulous Linda! Love the colors you used.
I enjoyed reading the things about you ~ I also am a fan of Modigliani and have the movie. Love his work.
I'm happy to hear Maisie is getting better each day!
Hugs,
Donna

Your new painting is great Linda! I love what you do with your colors.
I'm also obsessed with the Food Channel. My husband thinks I'm nuts.
