It's Fabulous Friday!

"Inner Circle #8"
6" x 7" acrylic and collage on canvas
available here in my Etsy shop

And a happy fabulous Friday to you! Here's the latest in my Inner Circle Series. I've been working on dog paintings all week...but yesterday I needed to shift gears and work on something a little different. It always seems to help my brain re-focus...and then I can head back to work on the dogs with a fresh perspective.

Besides working hard this week...a miracle happened. I found a bathing suit for Tahiti! We all know how much fun it is for a woman to shop for a new suit. The flourescent lights always help too. Geeez, you might as well put us in front of one of those distorted circus mirrors, Mr. Nordstrom's! I find myself having to channel Stuart Smalley (the character Al Franken played on Saturday Night Live) afterwards and say this affirmation to myself..."I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and gosh darnit it...people like me!". I think I'm over the trauma now.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Wonder why they call it a "suit" since it's so painful to find one which "suits" me. Tee-hee-ti :)

Love your collage style. Nice new banner too!

Hi Linda!
YAY! Super huge accomplishment! It is so hard to find a good bathing suit! Where did you find it? I Love your new painting! It is full of life and excitement!

Ha!! Your post made me laugh. I know just what you mean. In fact, just because I can't stand to try on suits anymore, I've taken clues from my sons. I wear a T shirt and board shorts when I swim.

Love your piece today.

Love the new inner circle piece, Linda. And not only are we both using yellow, but it looks to be nearly the same exact shade! Weird... Shari

I have really enjoyed all your "Inner Circle" works. I admire your use of color! Great job!
Your bathing suit story cracked me up because I was at Macy's yesterday doing the same thing. I hate shopping for a bathing suit. It is mortifying. lol

I haven't had a swimsuit on in 5 years... I looked ok then but since the hysterectomy it seems like everything has gone all mushy and yucky... lol... No one will ever see me in a swimsuit again... not even me....

What brilliant color composition to start a weekend! It reminds me of the tulips, daffodils and apple blossoms that are in full bloom right now in Canada.
Hv a great weekend, xo to Maisie! :)

I had a blah day and your painting is making me smile....thank you! I am SO jealous of Tahiti. I'm in love with Paul Gaugin's work and have always wanted to go to Tahiti and see the world he painted with my own eyes. Some day. Until then, I'll live vicariously through you!

Big hugs,
Christine

Love your collage, it is so bright and colorful. And congrat's on the bathing suit. I put shopping for those about as high on my list as a root canal.
Thanks for sharing.

Love all the colors in your Inner Circle series. Love the idea of doing a series. Can't wait to see some of the dog portraits you're doing. Fortunately it's too damned cold to swim in Maine so I avoid the swim suit issue all together!

Thanks for your continued support of my blog!
