Gushing about Gauguin!

"Arearea" (Joyousness)
by Paul Gauguin, 1892

"Pastorales Tahitiennes"
By Paul Gauguin, 1892

Oh yeah, she has the pre-travel jitters! I don't know about you, but I'm pretty much of a stress mess the days leading up to a long vacation. I'm not one who loves plane travel that's for sure...but more than that, it's leaving the comfort and loves of home and (DOG)...to venture out to places unknown. I always love it once we arrive at our destination...it's just the "before" and the "getting there" that kinda sucks!

One of the many reasons I'm excited to be going to Tahiti is because of Paul Gauguin...another one of my favorite Artists. Gauguin lived and painted in Tahiti during the last years of his life and produced some of his most beautiful works. I love the way he used bold color and primitive design to depict life on the Islands. He was truly a master and ahead of his time and I hope to see lots of his influence there.

Hope to be back here once more before we leave Wednesday afternoon.

Have a good Monday everyone!

Hi Linda, he is an artist I greatly admire as well. Thank you for showing some of his beautiful work.

Maisie will be fine, don't you worry. Fine one I am to give advice on this subject though, I always hate leaving the dogs. I also am , by my own admission, a home body. Even though I love going places, I always look forward to coming back home as much as I do to going away.

In the fall I am going with a friend and her parents to the Grand Canyon and some other wonderful areas out west. My husband Chris will take care of the 3 Tzus. I know he will do a great job but...in my mind, nobody cares for them like I do...I always feel I do the best job..you know how that goes?? I will also miss being home and being with Chris as I'll be gone for 7 days but, it will be a once in a life time kinda trip so, I'm a goin' and everyone will carry on without me. Do have a wonderful trip...enjoy yourself.!!!

Have fun girl and do not worry. I just returned from a brief 4 day trip and everyone survived while I was gone. In fact it felt very good to be missed. When I returned I took 3 additional days off ... sometimes life happens and we must play as hard as we work!

what I notice in this painting is the lovely long hair of the women. They are beautiful and curious.
