In Loving Memory

Steve and Lucy
Rocky Mountains hike, 2005

I would like to dedicate my post today to our dear friend, Steve...who passed away last Friday, June 13th. He was surrounded by all of us who loved him as he left this life.

Steve was one of the most remarkable people I have ever met; kind, compassionate and so caring to all who knew him. He fought a valiant battle against kidney cancer for almost two years with a dignity and grace we felt humbled to witness.

Thank you all for your messages of comfort and prayers for Steve and his wife, Kathleen this past week...they helped more than you know.

"Sogni dolci"(sweet dreams), Steve. We miss you more than words can say.

My sweet friend I am so sorry you are going through this sad time. One of my friends died a couple of weeks ago at the age of 44. I know God knows best but it sure does hurt the ones left here to go on with life without them. Maybe Steve can search out Abby and Emma and play with them...

Oh Linda,

I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your dear friend. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, as is Steve's family. You see those mountains in that picture? My guess is that in Heaven, Steve is sitting in a beautiful spot, just like that -- with a wonderful canine companion by his side... maybe several. I know that Abby and Logan will find him and keep him company.
