Art and an Auction

"The Five Senses"
20" x 24" acrylic and collage on canvas

Finally finished this abstract painting...it's a larger size than I usually work with so it was a bit challenging to the senses. I think it's always a good push though to work smaller or larger than you usually do.

So after you finish all your holiday shopping...head over to the Denver Dumb Friend's League to bid on a gift for yourself for the New Year! The DDFL is close to my heart because they do such good work AND it's where we adopted Maisie. They have 96 items to bid on and the auction continues through February 2nd. I donated a dog commission so you'll see that there too.

Hope you're all having a good week! It's been snowy and beautiful here...although a bit cold for my taste. The high on Monday was 6 degrees...way too cold for Maisie's paw paws!

I agree with you. I used to work on very small pieces and now I am venturing into extremely large ones...Very frightening and exhilarating at the same time!

Thank you for including the DDFL link.

Hope you're enjoying the new house!

Bravo on that large piece - it is a huge success - really nice colors and I just love it. The colors are so nicely balanced, too.
Will go and see this wonderful cause you support now.
You and MaiseDoggy stay warm and happy holidays to you from your friends in Texas!!

I love this piece Linda! I love all your work! I agree with Nancy that the colors are very well balanced!
We just had freezing rain here last night so the roads were a mess today! I would prefer beautiful snow!

Hey you. I love this latest piece. Doesn't that size seem HUGE after working small for a while? The last time I worked that big I felt like I was practically painting a mural.

Good idea to put in your auction listing "one dog only." I learned to do that the hard way, and will absolutely put that from now on when I donate a painting. I hope you get lots and lots of bids!!!

XOXO,
Christine

Brrr... I have heard of your cold winter temps from my parents. I'd offer for you to come here, but I am afraid it isn't much better! I love your new painting, too. Those vibrant colors!

I love how we are always feeding off each other. Today I decided to go bigger. I am working on a 22 x30 and my arm hurts!
I really like the colors in this one-so unlike the grey outside my studio window.stay warm-mb

Great piece. Nice focal point with the three black & white squares and great colors all over.
