Another Abstract Friday!
Happy Friday out there! This is a new abstract I just finished yesterday. It was inspired by an Artist I have always admired, Raymond Saunders. Raymond is a faculty member of the California College of Arts and Crafts which is where I was accepted to receive my MFA many years ago. Life took me in a different direction though and I went to work for LucasFilm instead.
Speaking of amazing Artists...I watched another HBO documentary called, "In a Dream". Those of you who love mosaics (Manon and Rebecca!) will want to watch this. It's about the life of Isaiah Zagar and his passion for tile and mirror mosaic work...a fascinating film.
Have a great weekend everyone! Maisie says hi!

I'm from Philadelphia and I have always LOVED Zagar's mosaics. I had my engagement pictures taken amongst his mosaics. I loved walking through a house that was absolutely COVERED in glass, tile, found objects, you name it. If life should ever bring you this way, I'm taking you there! In the meantime, I agree...that documentary is fantastic.
As for "Drink It All In," that golden color throughout the painting is so lovely. And the cup is prompting me to go make a cup of tea. Have a great weekend! XOXO

love the new collage, and thanks for the info on Zagar. I am aware of his work, and eager to see the film somehow. Hope it will be available on dvd. I clicked through and read the interview with his son the film maker, it looks really good.
Love the new work Linda! The title is also perfect! This piece makes me smile.... it has a happy vibe to it....just like all your other work.
Thanks for the info on the documentary. I have HBO so I'll look for it!!
Hope you're having a great weekend!!

ps thank you for stopping by my site
Good job! I’m reminded of a childhood friend who is fond of using 21+ sign in his drawings. He’s a good artist too.
Nice one there!
Linda, This new abstract is particularly Beautiful. I love the "floating" elements, and the softness of the colors. Great job!
