Frolicking Fruit

"Bananas In Love"
10" x 20" acrylic and collage on canvas

This is my latest fruit painting incorporating more of that beautiful collage paper I found. I had started it before Abby passed...so just finished it up a few days ago.

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Ours was good. Yesterday, we went to see the movie, "Year of the Dog". It was great and all you dog lovers out there should see it! It wasn't fluffy or cutesy...instead, it was a very moving story about a woman losing her dog and how she deals with the aftermath. Of course it was sad in many parts (and I cried like a baby when her dog died) but it was uplifting at the same time...especially the end.

The movie really made me miss Abby...but just seeing the faces of all the sweetie pie dogs on the big screen was enough to soften my heart.

Have a nice Monday.

What an uplifting piece of art.

Have you seen Dog Star?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0336300/

I cried so hard that it is offically my new birthday movie, replacing Greyfrier's Bobby. If you get the opportunity to see it sometime, it is worth the effort, I think

Gorgeous work... as is everything you do. You've been busy!

I've heard such great things about this film too - a definite "see" on my list!

Have a wonderful week.

"Bananas in Love" brought a big smile to my face! I love it!! I haven't seen the movie yet, but I will. And I'll bring a big box of Kleenex.

The light in this painting is exquisite, Linda!! Wonderful painting. I'm not sure I'm up for a "crying" movie, though...

argh ... I tried leaving a message and then realised I had typed the letters wrong.

Just wanted to say that I thought the bananas looked as if they were frolicking happily - the mauve background and the pretty print are a perfect complement.

I have never heard of this movie, so thank you for mentioning it. I can only imagine how moving it would be!!

I've said it many times before Linda, your fruit is so life like, I could reach in and take the bananas, I can almost smell them.

Excellent bananas (& I'm from Queensland, Australia, so I should know). Great lighting, too.
