Bye Emmie!

Plum worn out from too much fun!

Just wanted to say "we miss you" to Emmie this morning. Shennon (hi Shen!) and Greg picked him up last night so he is back home with his people now. I really do miss him this morning. He has such a sweet soul, just like Abby Louise did...and well...just like all dogs do and it was a real gift and a pleasure to have him around. He really made me miss Abby...but at the same time...brought back so many wonderful memories of how a dog can enrich your life so much. He made us laugh with his silly antics, he gave us a lot of lovin' kissies and he made us open our hearts a little again after the sadness of losing Abby. Thanks Emmett, you silly boy. We love you!

What a cutie pie! Look at those big, brown eyes! Don't you just want to go up and hug him? Great pictures!

It is amazing how Emmett is flopped down in exactly the same position as Lytton with his ears just so ... ah, I adore chocolate labs. L. is older, so he has grey hair on his chin which makes him look wise, but underneath he's the same goofy guy.

Ok, I have been wanting to say this for a couple of weeks, but my two cents, (and please don't hate me for saying this!), is that it's time to start looking for a new addition (pooch) for the O'Neill family.

No pup could ever take the place of Abby in your heart but the new one will have his/her own special gifts to share, just like Emmett did.

Maybe even just a little innocent browsing on petfinder wouldn't be such a bad thing. And I feel sure that Abby Louise would approve.

Just something to think about. I know you will know when you are ready Linda, I am just excited for the day when you bring your new furbaby home. :-)

He looks like our Huckelberry Pie! How fun to have Emmie there {we cal Huck "Huckie" a lot too, or Huckster, H Man, and then we have a really bad name that I won't repeat that ryhmes with Huck when we feel silly]...I understand the living without your old dog thing. I waited a year after old Louie died, but I had Billy the Pug. It's a personal decision. Have you read Blue Dog?
Also, good for you for all the donations you've collected for Bernie!!! Excellent.
