New Abstract

"Two Hearts" 6" x 6" acrylic and collage on canvas
available for purchase here

I started this painting in Shari Beaubien's class over the weekend and just finished it. Shari introduced me to some new techniques so I started with those...and then incorporated some of my own when I got home. It's sort of Beaubien/O'Neill original! Thanks, Shari...for showing me some very cool new texture techniques and for the idea to incorporate heart shapes into my abstracts. I had a lot of fun with this one!

My sweet James just left today for a four day abalone diving trip to California. I miss him already. He has a group of friends that he meets at Salt Point once a year and they have a blast. I've joined him before on this trip...but I guess you could say I'm not really a "camper". That's putting it mildly. Let's just say a nice hotel with a beautiful view and a glass of chilled chardonnay are more my speed!

I LOVE this, Linda! It's just WONDERFUL! I love how you connected the two hearts with the curly line and then accented them with the white. And the rest of the background is marvelous! Those are colors I never would have thought to pair, but they look just stunning. Woo hoo! I'm so happy you shared this with us!! And although I won't take credit for it being a "Beaubien/O'Neill original", I'm certainly proud to have had an itty bitty influence. Hugs, Shari

I love the colors of this abstract and the addition of the black hearts really make it work for me. Keep going with this new technique!
BTW, don't blame you on the whole camping thing...give me a comfy bed with no mosquitoes any day!

Linda:

I've been looking back on your posts that I missed. Your work is gorgeous, as always. I can't believe it's been five months now since you lost Abby Louise. Life here in this world can be so painful and consuming, now, she has no pain. She has green fields and Dairy Queen ice cream everyday.!!

I love this, and would love to know more about the texturing process.

Love "Two Hearts." You can tell you had fun with it.

The best thing about camping: s'mores.

Oh I LOVE this collage! I need to get out and explore the class offerings in these parts. It seems like the pickings are slim, but perhaps I simply haven't looked that hard. I love this!!!!

And I love your take on camping. I'm right there with you!

Hi Linda! Beautiful colors -- and the hearts are so sweet. I love how they are connected like that. And the 'I love not camping' picture cracked me up so much!
