The Toe Tale

First of all, thank you all SO much for your sweet emails and blog comments wondering how it all went with Maisie yesterday. They really warmed our hearts!

It's been an interesting week to say the least...here's what happened...

~ Maisie decided to take off the cast HERSELF once again on Tuesday. (James said that in dog years, she thought it was time).

~ We took her right in to the Vet where they decided to x-ray her a few days early.

~ Our Vet said that the toe looked healed to her but there was a small hole in the middle that had not filled with bone yet.

~ She left Maisie's cast off and told us she would consult a Radiologist on Friday to make the final call.

~ Maisie was a crazy dog the rest of the week. Linda needs medication now.

~ Yesterday evening, it was decided by the Docs that her toe was healed with a slight malformation. The cast is off for good though! TRIPLE YAY!

Maisie is limping a bit and holding her paw up occasionally but that's normal because her foot muscles are so weak. We are supposed to baby it for another week or so and then she should start to have a normal life again.

What a two months this has been. I have a few new grey hairs, an aching back and our house is such a mess that the vacuum is running for the back door. All in all...what a relief...what a journey...what a dog!!

Thanks again for going along for the ride with me...and for helping me keep my sanity. I couldn't have done it without you! xox

SO happy the cast is off!!! My doggie chewed his staples out when we got him fixed! We had to race him back and that time he got a hood to keep him from reaching it! Good choices of art you made,in the blog below! Love them both!

Linda: I'm so happy for you and Maisie as well. I'm just now starting the spring ritual of fighting off Jr's ear infection in his right ear.

Hey, if you get a chance, I'm having another contest on my blog for a free print. It's "Dancing Fiona" the Bull Terrier!!

Please go kiss that puppy dog and hug yourself. You both deserve it and I can't be there to do it myself... lol...

Linda, it is 2 months you cannot take back. Good thing Dr. Maisie removed the cast and now she just has to take it easy. What a beautiful face she has!

Linda, that cracks me up that is has been taking off her own cast. See, she knew she was healed and figured...Mom and Dad, please already, get this thing off so I can resume getting into trouble. : )
