Plug it in!

"Espresso Plug"
6.75" x 8" oil pastel on paper
2004

Happy New Year everyone! It feels good to be back after the holiday break. My new motto for this month as illustrated by the above painting is "Plug it in!" I'm going to embrace 2009 with lots of energy and mucho creative spirit!

Actually, "Espresso Plug" came to mind as a good image for my post today because it's featured on EBSQ's site as the Art of the Day today. In case you're not familiar with EBSQ...it's a great place for Artists to meet, learn and showcase their work. I've been a member since 2003 and have gained some great insight from the experience. Here is some info about the group in case you're interested in joining.

Hope you're all doing well. I plan to catch up on your blogs this week to see what amazing things you're doing already this year.

Back soon...Maisie says hi! xox

Love the oil pastel-love that medium. Haven't worked with them in years.

The pic on here is not downloading for me, for some reason. But I do like all the others. I have two dogs and love them dearly.

Hi Linda....welcome back...What a great painting, it just makes you smile...I'm having a giveaway at my blog but the best part is the calendar my daughter gave me for Christmas. I have all the pictures posted and everyone is voting on their favorite shot...Not your kind of art but art in a strange way....Toddler in the Movies...my 18 month granddaughter re-creating famous movie scenes...daughter made all the costumes and did all the photography.....it will be the second post down from the top...Sue.

Hey Linda, Happy New Year and thanks for telling us about EBSQ...I will check it out.

Wow, do I love this painting...it really fascinates me Linda. When I first logged onto your blog, I thought...ow, linda is showing us a photo of something plugged in at her house...hmmm. It was just so "real", I thought it was a photo at first.

Beautiful work as always.

Hi Linda.... I must say I LOVE this painting .. though simple in its subject ... its on fire with color!!

You are so right we could be one "HOT" LIT UP CUCUMBER!! LOL

I wish you the best with your list... keep it short ... simple... realistic and all will work out fine..

Hi Linda, I'm a life member of EBSQ, was lucky enough to get when there was a special deal on! I saw this painting in my email, went to see the artist's profile, & realised that I already 'knew' you from your blog, hehe.
