Water and Rain

"H20"
8" x 8" acrylic, collage and crayon on canvas
available in my Esty shop here

Here's my latest mixed media painting. I must be craving those lovely spring rains because this post seems to be about water in general. I took inspiration for this painting from Manon Doyle (thanks Manon!)...to use those wonderful little Caran d'Ache Neocolor crayons. I used to use them all the time in printmaking but haven't used them in my work lately. They're a blast to play with!

Now below, we have a rain jacket that I think was MADE for Miss Maisie. She could really strut her stuff in this outfit...although getting her "in" it would be a challenge. I'm so tempted to get it...but I think James would give me "a look".

Have a good Wednesday everyone!

you can buy it at Tails by the Lake

You are really on a roll lately! Your paintings are just fabulous. I've always envied artists who could have a look at something and translate it to paper.

I would love to see Jr. or Homer in that coat, but alas....I think I would get "the look" from my entire family if I tried to dress either one of them!

Following the 'doggie' trail in blogs, I stumbled on your site - I love it! And I love your dog - what a character! But what knocks me out is your mixed media/collage and abstract work. W-O-W. I'm a fan!

It's raining fashion! Love the water painting, Miss Linda, and, of course, the dog slicker. Maisie would look FAB in that!

Oh, LOVE the painting. The whippets would like to borrow Maisie's built in coat sometimes! She would look cute in yellow, for sure!

thanks for your kind words-
Patience

Oh you wouldn't do that to poor Miss Maisie...I'm with James on this one...dogs were not meant to wear clothes....period. Maybe a hat every now and then.

Add me to the list of admirers who think the rain and water piece is just absolutely super. I'm surprised I haven't run across your blog till now with all the "poochie pics" I've had on lately. Come visit and keep up the good work.

Very nice piece! Can you tell us your secret on how you did this? Is it a layered collage? Did you add the Caran D'ache afterwards?
