Spring has sprung

"First Signs of Spring"
8" x 8" x 1.5" acrylic, collage, ink on canvas
available in my Etsy shop here

I'm feelin' a little spring here in Colorado...it's 74 degrees today! Some green is starting to return to the lawn, the iris bulbs are popping up and James and I started preparing the soil in our vegetable garden yesterday. Now I know winter isn't over here yet...but I think I'll ignore that right now and continue on my merry spring way.

I was over at Wendy Crumbley's 2DogStudio blog the other day and saw a couple of things I wanted to share with you. First, check out this wonderful painting she did titled, "Bath Time". Besides the fact that it's a beautiful painting...her use of texture is just awesome!

"Bath Time" by Wendy Crumbley

Wendy also finds the most wonderful dog quotes...and this one reminds me of how I feel about Maisie...

"My sunshine doesn't come from the skies,
it comes from the love in my dog's eyes." ~unknown

Thanks for your inspiration, Wendy!

Love the yellow & violet on your collage. Something about it made me think of the flavor of sweet tarts from childhood. Your colors always make me want to drink or taste them though ... always so intense.

Anyway, the yellow petal in the negative space is perfection. Good job.

Wow that collage POPS! I love the colors choices you made. I also love the bath time painting. I just want to grab the biggest and fluffiest towel around and give a big hug.

Howlo, Linda! Pawleeze tell Maisie I send my best barks and friendliest smiles! And pawleeze tell Wendy that I like her dog pawtrait.

I like your art very much. I'm going to tell dog-ma to visit your Etsy shop. ^..^ ~ Tilin Corgi

Linda, I love your new painting. And the dog painting by Wendy is fabulous too!

I'm jealous you're having spring weather...we still have some snow on the ground. Hopefully, warm weather is on its way this weekend.

Hi Linda...what a beautiful quote for a dog lover...it's so true. And how funny that Colorado being famous for snow is 74 and Atlanta is famous for being "Hotlanta"....and we're the ones that got snow the other day..and it's still in the 20's!!

Don't you just love the anticipation of spring? I'm always very happy to see Day-Light Savings time come back around. I believe that happens this coming Sunday.

If you get a chance, swing by my blog. I'm having a give-away for one of my art prints. Homer will pick the winning number!
