New Art and a New Movie
Here's my latest...a landscape abstract titled, "Reaching for Sun". Part of the abstract process that I really enjoy is allowing a painting to unfold without putting too many restrictions on myself. I start out with a line drawing...but if the painting isn't happening with the initial concept...I just let myself go. I keep adding layers of color, line and collage until that magical thing happens...it WORKS! Makes it worth the sweat every time, doesn't it?
Hope you had a good weekend. It was beautiful here with lots of cooler weather and some nice thunder bumpers. By the way...James and I went to see the movie, "Away We Go" and we loved it. Go see it!

Very nice, Linda. Hope you had a good 4th also. I want to see that movie! Saw Maggie Gyllenhaal in an interview about it. Looks very good. Went to see "Hangover". OMG....so funny! I love funny, mindless movies now & then.
Happy Monday!

Hi Linda,
Oh, what an unusual background.
How did you acheive the texture for this?
It looks a bit like tissue paper.

I really, REALLY like this one! That green is gorgeous!
XOXO
Very nice! That's kinda how I approach my abstracts. It's like a game.
oh linda!
it is just amazing!
i love the colors and textures!
it is so uplifting!
I absolutely flat out love this piece Linda! Everything about it is magnificent! : )
I Love this painting. Colors and design are great.
This is lovely. The aqua green looks like it could be water or grass. Again, I love the little bit of green sneaking in at the very bottom. You keep doing this with your recent work... little bonus surprises that sneak up on you at the edges. Very sophisticated!
LOVE the painting, Linda!
Hugs,
Donna

i LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!! A lot!!!!!
Hi Linda!
I love where your new abstracts are going. This one is a favorite, but I am excited to see you exploring some new colors. Cool!
I have been hearing so much about this movie, but it's not playing here darn it! Guess I'll have to wait for it on Netflix :(
