Snippets
Happy Monday! So hey...do you create "Snippets"? I call older pieces of art that you tear up into smaller works of art...Snippets.
While I was working on my BFA degree many years ago...I focused on printmaking. I made hundreds of monotypes...many that were ready for the garbage can after printing! I found though that if I tore up the monotypes instead...I could create little monotypes, often with much better compositions. I framed lots of these because I liked them so much.
If you haven't already...try making a Snippet and let me know what you come up with!
Back very soon with my new dog painting...

Ooo! Snippet #2 is lovely! How were those swirls created? With a tool of some kind? Your hand? A rag? I miss printmaking...does this mean you got a (highly coveted) tabletop press?! This is Shennon, BTW, as if you didn't know by the tabletop press comment!
Linda:
What a fabulous idea. Because, really...snippets can be isolated from any kind of work, can't they? Even our thoughts. You just opened up a whole new line of thinking for me?

hi linda!
oh my gosh!
you snippets are fabulous right down to the name! oh this would be a fabulous workshop!
i love them!
These are lovely, and what a great suggestion Linda. I cut up some old paintings to fit into tiny frames for the arboretum show last year and had all these psychedelic scraps left over. I wish now I had saved them...
Love this! You've given me some ideas.
Hugs,
Donna
THose are so cool, Linda. I love them both! Can't wait to see the new dog picture! xo Diane
I make "snippets" too, but I think these two you have posted are MUCH lovelier than mine!
