Imagination Highway!

"Lollipop Highway"

5" x 7" acrylic, collage and ink on canvas
available in my Etsy shop here

Happy Monday out there! Here's the latest in my Abstract Landscape series. I started out with a collage piece taken from an old drawing of mine...and this is what I ended up with. The piece of paper I used is underneath the pink part of the painting. It looked like an asphalt road with white divider stripes so that sparked the idea.

Here's a quote that made me laugh today...

"Those of us who aren't artists
must color things the way they
really are or people might
think we're stupid".
~Jules Feiffer

And here's another Artist Blogger I want you to know about who continues to inspire me and makes me laugh. She makes me make hungry too!

Working on two dog commissions. Back soon!

Mardi Gras Maisie!

"Where's the Party?"
12" x 12" acrylic, glass beads, ink on canvas

Hi everyone...sorry I've been awol for a week without a post. I've been working hard on this painting and the new website. I just finished the above piece yesterday for an auction that is coming up to support Bernie Berlin's A Place to Bark. About 20+ of us Dog Artists from around the country are donating an original work...with the theme, Party Animal. Can you guess who my beautiful model was? I will be back with more details on when and where you can bid on these pieces as soon as I hear more from our illustrious organizer and fellow participating Artist, Jill Beninato.

One reason it's been extra busy around here is that James and I are leaving for Hawaii this Saturday...and you KNOW how it gets before a trip! We're having a week long family reunion thingie on Maui. We're both looking forward to getting away for a bit and enjoying some nice, warm weather and no snow! Alright already with the snow!

I'll be back in touch the week after Easter Sunday. Wishing you all a wonderful spring week ahead! xox

A Dog and A Digital

"Fluffernutter"
12" x 13" acrylic and collage on canvas

Here he is...Mr. Fluffernutter. Don'tcha just love that name?...and what a cutie pie dog to match! Fluffer was a challenge but a real joy to paint. I think I changed the background five times on this one before I was happy.

And since I posted that painting by Inez Storer recently...I thought I would post this older digital piece of mine. Seems to have some eerie similarities. Any thoughts? Oooh...and we both painted these in 2002. (thanks for pointing that out Sandy!)

"Guise"
5.25" x 6" Digital Painting - 2002

And last but not least...two of my favorite Artists are having special discounts on some of their work until the end of this month. You should check them out here...

Sarah Regan Snavely's Etsy store for her beautiful Greyhound Tiles.

Jamie Johnson's "Really Big Sale" for originals, tiles and reproductions of her fabulous house paintings. (check the side bar for additional works)

Pay It Forward!

I was fortunate enough to win a beautiful painting from Jonna on her recent "Pay It Forward" post. So...to keep the spirit of Pay It Forward going...the first three people that post a comment on my blog today will win an original painting of mine. The three below are acrylic paintings on paper...one which I will send to YOU, mounted and matted and ready to frame. All you have to do in return is to post a Pay It Forward to three people on your blog as well. Keep the good juju rolling and the spirit of giving alive!
