Breathing In
We flew back from the Bay Area late Sunday night and I'm still lagging from the trip! James and I went out to help my Mom with things she needed done around her house and property in Petaluma. We got a lot accomplished in five days...but any time I lift and move stuff for any length of time...I pay for it later! All I can say is thank god for Advil, my very good friend this week. :)
So this is the second painting in my new series of work. As you can see, my style is starting to change a bit. I'm focusing more on organic shapes and painting more freely and spontaneously. Sometimes I think too much about what and how I'm painting and I tend to get in my own way. If I start to judge what I'm doing now...I walk away for a few minutes and try to clear my mind of the chatter. I'm also starting to work on a larger scale and I'm finding that I really enjoy it.
Hope you're enjoying a beautiful summer day! Back soon...

Love this new piece Linda. I'm the same way, if I'm frustrated or feeling like I cannot continue, I usually turn my painting towards the wall and walk away until the next day or whenever I feel like continuing.
Glad you got to help your mom out.
