Short break...

Maisie loves the leaves

I've been taking a little blog break...been thinking of you all and miss you but I'll be back soon!

Hope you had a great Halloween. Maisie did although she freaked out a little when "Moss Man" came to the door!

More Holiday Cards!

Holiday Cards available in my Etsy Shop here.

Hope that you all had a fun Halloween! Seems amazing to me that it's November already...so I'm adding a couple more Holiday Cards to my Etsy Shop this week. It seems like the Holidays come at warp speed after Halloween so I usually get caught in the blur and end up sending out MY cards around December 24th!! I'm hoping that by adding these to my shop early this year...it will help me with my own "card slackerdom".

Of course, I HAD to post this embarrassing photo of Morticia Maisie in her Halloween attire. You can tell by the look how thrilled she was and you can probably guess just how long the wig stayed on. I'm surprised the wig survived at all!

Monday madness!

"Santa Puppy"
Christmas Cards available in my Etsy Shop here

Here's the next Dog Holiday Card in line...created from my original painting of "Emma".

Yes, it's a crazy Monday!...lots of painting to do plus my Mom comes for a visit this Wednesday. She hasn't seen the new house so I'm really looking forward to showing it to her. The house will pale in comparison though to her meeting Maisie. I think that's really why she's coming!:)

And one last flicker of Halloween sweetness is below, with Miss Ruby (candy corn girl Jenna's sister) in all her bubbly butterfly beauty. That little face should start your week off right!

Maisie's Halloween

So...I had about 3 minutes to take these pictures before Maisie and Lucy tore their costumes off! We had a little pre-Halloween party last night at Kathleen's house so Maisie wanted to show Lucy her dream bunny costume. Of course...our sweet little Maisie probably should have been the devil dog!

Have a Happy Halloween out there and a great weekend!

A Canine Christmas!

Puchase these cards in my Etsy Shop here

A very happy Thursday to ya! So how can you not love a "Puggie" Christmas card I ask? I just created this one today and am actually going to be releasing a few other new Doggie Christmas Cards during the next several days. They come ten cards per package with envelopes...and you can purchase them here.

Now...on to the little Halloween vixen below. That's my friend Shennon's daughter, Jenna (for those of you who follow my blog...that would be Ruby's little sister). Other than Ruby (and Maisie of course)...she's just about the cutest thing I've ever laid eyes on. I'm thinking this would be a great costume for Maisie too...if only I could push her big ears up inside that hat. Maybe NOT?!

Halloween Pet Costumes

HA!...did you see this from CuteOverload.com the other day? Love it! This was pretty much Abby's attitude when I tried to dress her up as a cat one year.

Happy Halloween!!

My adorable Abby Louise...best Dracula dog ever! Abby used to really enjoy Halloween...can't you tell by her expression? NOT! She was a trooper though and didn't mind some of the costumes we put her through over the years. Some of my favorites were her as a Cheerleader, Bee, Cowgirl, Cat and Witch. I miss my little spooky girl this Halloween.

Hope you all have a wonderful, scary night out there! You can be sure that I won't open my door if any clowns or old antique doll baby heads come to my door...two of the scariest things in MY world!!

Another Painting and a White Dog Christmas!

"Moonrise"
3.5" x 5" acrylic on paper
available at my Etsy shop

Above is another new abstract. Do YOU see a Moonrise too? I don't know...could just be me!

As for the image below...it's another Christmas Card created from the "Bianca" painting I did this year. They are available at my Etsy shop too. The message on the card says, "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas!".

And be sure to check back tomorrow for the scariest Halloween picture ever! If you DARE!!

New Abstract Painting

"Sprout"
6" x 7" acrylic and collage on canvas
available at my Etsy Store

I felt the need to head back to some abstract work for a couple of days so the above piece is a result of that. (Hey Ro...I used your paper again here!)

I really enjoy the variety of switching back and forth from painting dogs...to still lifes...to abstracts. There is something about it that really works for me. What I learn each time from doing the abstracts helps with the dog art which helps with the still lifes and so on and so on. It also gives me the chance to express myself in three very different ways. I sometimes wonder though if I stretch myself too thin by doing this ...and that maybe I should focus on one specific subject matter to produce a more cohesive body of work. Then again...maybe this is just the way I need to work to get where I'm going.

On another subject...I have a Halloween movie recommendation for you. If you haven't seen "Freaks"...it's the perfect creepy movie to watch! We're taking it over to some friends to watch on Wednesday night after all the kiddies come. It's a classic and surely one of the strangest movies ever to come out of Hollywood. Get it!
