IKEA is my friend

I bet most of you out there have a love affair going with IKEA like Melissa and I do, don't you? Well, when James and I were in the Bay Area a few weeks ago...we went to the IKEA store in Emeryville where I found this major cheapo hanging system. It's marketed for curtains...but I knew it would make a really cool industrial looking "print" hanger. I have some of my mini prints on it now in my studio and I love it! Unfortunately, IKEA doesn't sell these on their website...but you can find them here on ebay.

Got my new issue of Fido Friendly magazine in the mail over the weekend with their "100 Best Products" for dogs and their people. I think I may have to get this and some of these.

I'm working hard on finishing my new dog commission so stay tuned! Hope you're all having a good Monday!

great looking hangers!
Yea, I was flipping through that mag today while stuff was uploading. I liked the dog bowl feeders over at unleashedlife.com.

They have some great tall urn, type of feed stands for those tall puppies out there ....we could not use them.

Looking forward to seeing your new work.

Well, how convenient is that! Your paintings look quite nice hanging there, too. I saw Melissa featuring your work the other day. Your stuff really is so beautiful! I just love Melissa too.

Hi Linda! I love this system, it really lets your art show without any distractions. We do love Ikea here in Dallas, and I especially love the meatballs in the cafe - have you tried them? If you do, be sure to bring home a doggy bag for your sweetie pie!

There's only one thing better than admiring a piece of your art...and that is admiring several pieces hanging together! Wow, your pieces look fabulous and so clean hanging on that system!

You mentioned on my blog that you've been gardening....I'm glad to hear it. I'll bet you're better at it than you say. You have a great eye for color and composition. After all, gardening is just another form of art. Color, texture, composition....

Enjoy the garden and make sure Maisie does her fair share as well!

Hi Linda,

Ok, I have to admit...I really love looking around at Ikea. I love the line that you found. Your prints look so awesome on it. If you do craft shows, what a great way to display prints on them, in addition to your usual display.

I cannot wait to see your new commission. You are my favorite pet portrail artist and while I think all your art is a standout, you pet portrait are absolutely exquisite. I recommended you a while back to someone I know who lost both her cats and wanted to get a portrait done...hope she will give you a call.

Very cool hanging system and I did not know about the Fido Friendly Mag. Thanks for posting both. Can't wait to see your commission! Happy Day, Wendy

Wow, love that hanging system. Your art looks great hanging there, almost gallery-like.

I'm not familiar with the Fido Friendly magazine. I may have to check that out.

Have a great day, Linda!

Love the new hanging system! Your art looks especially good on it. Unfortunately, the closest Ikea is a long day's journey from Downeast Maine. BUT, we'll be in California next month. Hmmm! Thanks for the great tip!

I want that hanging system. Like, now! I think I'm the only person I know who has never stepped foot into an IKEA. And I've passed by them a gazillion times. I think I now have my inspiration to actually step in...

I love Ikea. Our apartment could be straight out of there catalog minus all the pictures of our dog and some original art.
