Got it!

"Passageway"
12" x 24" acrylic and collage on canvas
Prints available at Imagekind.com and my Etsy shop.

Finally...I got what I wanted with this painting I've been working on. Oh god of creativity...I am very thankful today!

By the way...Imagekind is having a great holiday sale right now with 25% off of everything until midnight, November 25th. Their printing and framing quality is top notch so think about giving a beautiful art print to someone special this year.

Every year, I love reading the "Thanksgiving" quotes from elementary students in our local paper. Here are a few of them that are especially endearing...

Nathan:
I am thankful for nature because trees make air.

Kai: I am thankful for my cat Juice Juice and my dog Eclipse. We like to talk by howling to each other.

Aidan:
My community and I am happy of the pie.

Shelby: That God and Jesus were invented.

You can read more here...have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Surfacing SNIPPET

Milk Snippet

Hello!...and can you believe it's the middle of November already? Sheesh. Anyway...thought I would pop in to show you a few photos that some very special people sent to me. Sara Harley, who recently won my Snippet giveaway sent me the Milk Snippet she chose from my Etsy shop. Thanks, Sara...it looks great in your kitchen! Read Sara's blog post about it here.

...from a distance

The photo below was sent to me by my dear friend, Barbara Guss. She purchased my "Oranges on a Blue Plate" print awhile back and this is now where it happily lives...in her beautiful Santa Fe home. I just love the print with her decor. Thank you, Barbara!

Oranges on a Blue Plate

On another note...I've been workin' away here in the studio although have been stuck on one painting for awhile. I've drawn, scratched, rubbed, scraped and changed colors several times but it just hasn't come together yet. Let's just say I've wanted to take a hammer to it today!

As frustrating as painting can sometimes be...having it work in the end IS worth the effort. I just have to step away, breathe, maybe take Maisie for a walk...then get back in the ring again. Some creative juju always helps too!

New Canvas Art Prints

Snippet #1
from "Upon Delicate Earth"
6" x 6" x 1.5" canvas print on birchwood panel

You can purchase one
here on Etsy

The word "Snippet" is defined as a "bit, fragment, morsel, part, piece, scrap, smidgen or snip".

As many of you already know...I have a thing for Snippets so I am launching a new series of them today. I'm taking visual bits and snips of my original paintings, new and older and am making special prints of them with slighty different compositions. I'll be making these with both abstract and still life imagery.

The Snippets are printed on primed canvas with archival pigment inks and are adhered to a birchwood boxed panel with archival matte medium. The prints measure 6"w x 6"h x 1.5"d. They are varnished for UV and handling protection and are ready to hang! They look great sitting on a shelf, desk or grouped together on a wall.

The great thing about these boxed prints is that they are an affordable gift for yourself or anyone as an alternative to original art.

I'm giving away one of the above Snippets as a gift to one of YOU, my awesome and supportive blog friends. Just leave a comment and Maisie, the wonder dog, will put all your names in the magic randomizer. She will announce the winner next Wednesday, October 13th.

Good luck and see you soon! xox

Snippet #2
from "Tranquil Voyage"
6" x 6" x 1.5" canvas print on birchwood panel

Another newbie

"Believing it Would Grow"
13" x 16" acrylic and collage on canvas

Prints available at Imagekind.com and my Etsy Shop

I seem to be at a loss for words today (I know that's unusual, James!)...so I am just going to post this new painting. If any words come to YOUR mind when you see it...I would love to hear them.

One of Maisie's boyfriends is coming over for a play date tonight. If they slow down long enough for me to take a picture, I'll post one tomorrow. They are so adorable together!

IKEA is my friend

I bet most of you out there have a love affair going with IKEA like Melissa and I do, don't you? Well, when James and I were in the Bay Area a few weeks ago...we went to the IKEA store in Emeryville where I found this major cheapo hanging system. It's marketed for curtains...but I knew it would make a really cool industrial looking "print" hanger. I have some of my mini prints on it now in my studio and I love it! Unfortunately, IKEA doesn't sell these on their website...but you can find them here on ebay.

Got my new issue of Fido Friendly magazine in the mail over the weekend with their "100 Best Products" for dogs and their people. I think I may have to get this and some of these.

I'm working hard on finishing my new dog commission so stay tuned! Hope you're all having a good Monday!

More mini's

"Green Pear"
5" x 7" print available here

"Red Pear"
5" x 7" print available here

Here are two more mini prints available now in my Etsy shop. Haven't been able to finish any original art yet this week as I've been busy with other...shall we say organizational things? I've also been working with my web designer on the new site. It won't be ready for awhile...but I can tell you I'm getting VERY excited about it!

And now a quiz...WHO does the dog in the below comic remind you of??? She'll be by to say hello to you tomorrow.:)
