"Last One From The Tree"

7" x 12" acrylic on canvas

available in my Etsy Shop here

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving out there. We had a really nice few days. My Dad was in town and it was so great to be able to spend some time with him. James cooked Thanksgiving dinner and it...was...awesome!

News from the Abby Creek Etsy Shop...shipping within the U.S. is free on all artwork until December 1st. All you have to do is use Code FREESHIP when you check out. I also just relisted my painting, "Last One From The Tree" with a special holiday price.

Back soon with some great exhibit news! Have a great Monday!

Out of the "Passageway"...

...the painting from my last post, come two new Snippets! Just added them to my Etsy shop here. I also posted a "setting shot" of them after purchasing a stock photo from Istockphoto.com. I was spurred on to create one by reading Artist, Jennifer Lommer's blog awhile back. She did a great post about art marketing. Check out her work while you're there too...she's a wonderful painter.

Sorry I've been a little lag in blogging. I've been busy making Snippets for a client and working on a large Christmas card order. This time of year, I also design and print cards for clients and friends so I've been printing like a mad woman! I have three paintings in the works though too so hope to show you those soon.

Have a great December weekend!

Got it!

12" x 24" acrylic and collage on canvas
Prints available at Imagekind.com and my Etsy shop.

Finally...I got what I wanted with this painting I've been working on. Oh god of creativity...I am very thankful today!

By the way...Imagekind is having a great holiday sale right now with 25% off of everything until midnight, November 25th. Their printing and framing quality is top notch so think about giving a beautiful art print to someone special this year.

Every year, I love reading the "Thanksgiving" quotes from elementary students in our local paper. Here are a few of them that are especially endearing...

Nathan: I am thankful for nature because trees make air.

Kai: I am thankful for my cat Juice Juice and my dog Eclipse. We like to talk by howling to each other.

Aidan: My community and I am happy of the pie.

Shelby: That God and Jesus were invented.

You can read more here...have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The Whole Shebang

"Day's Sweet Song"

30" x 30" acrylic and collage on canvas

As promised...here is my newest painting...unsnippeted! I found a new Golden paint color that I'm loving...Quinacridone Magenta. The color is so brilliant and rich and it has a nice transparency to it that I can build on.

On another note...I'm honored to be the featured artist on the Paws for Charity blog today! Remember, when you're getting ready to buy those holiday gifts...the Paws for Charity Art Book and/or Calendar is a perfect gift for any animal lover in your life. It's also a great way to help in the fight against breast cancer.

Hope you're enjoying some beautiful Fall color wherever you are!

Dream a little dream...

"Dream Space"
16" x 20" acrylic and collage on canvas

Prints available at Imagekind.com and Etsy

Do you remember your dreams most of the time? I do but my dreams are not as crazy and vivid as they used to be. I kinda miss that! The best ones were always the flying ones. I had one in particular where I was flying over New York city...able to see beautiful color and lights and people having a good time on the rooftops. I woke up feeling SO good!

Hey, by they way...remember the Paws for Charity art book that Abby Creek was part of? Well, now you can purchase a beautiful new Paws for Charity calendar. I think either one would make a great gift for the holidays. You can get a 20% discount on the calendar if you order before September 30th! Just enter the code FALLPHOTO when you order at Lulu.com Here's a sample page of October which has my Greyhound painting top left.

A Thank You from Dexter

Dexter and Dexter

I was thrilled when I received this photo from Diane...of her handsome Dexter next to his painting. I love it when people send these to me! She also wrote a very nice blog post about it...so thank you Diane. That made my day!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. Maisie and James enjoyed their turkey...and I stuffed my face with everything else. Just put some vegetarian stuffing and Uncle Fred's cranberry dish in front of me...and I'm a happy camper!

Hey, have you seen this adorable coaster set from Aunt Sadie's? I love 'em!

Have a good Monday and happy almost December!

Friday Giveaway!

Happy Friday everyone! Per Maisie's request...I am giving away one of my 2010 Abby Creek Calendars. Just leave a comment and Maisie will pick the lucky winner next Tuesday. The calendars are still available for sale in my Etsy Shop as well. They make great stocking stuffers!

My brother is coming to visit for a few days so I'm very excited about that. Just wait until Maisie nudges his door open in the morning and jumps up on his bed to snuggle. Surprise!

Hope you all have a great weekend. See you Tuesday!
