PAWS for Charity book launch!

April is Cancer Awareness month...so what better time to launch the PAWS for Charity Art Book! As of today, you can purchase a soft or hardcover version of the book here at Blurb.com. This would make a wonderful gift for anyone in your life...plus all funds raised from the sale of these books are donated to The Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade.

Thanks again to Sara Harley who put this project together and created such a beautiful book. I'm honored to be among all the Artists involved.

A Winter Day

"A Winter Day"
22" x 22" acrylic and collage on canvas

Remember the painting of Maisie I was telling you about? Well, I just finished it last night! Here is my girl, on a crisp winter day...in all her beautiful Shepherdness. I wanted to experiment and do a dog painting that was very different from my usual portrait work. I think Maisie was the perfect subject!

Hopefully I'll be back later this week with another new abstract to show you. I say "hopefully" because my Mom is coming from California today to visit for a week. She's very excited to see her Granddog...I think more than us!

Hope you're all having a great week so far! xox

A Thank You from Dexter

Dexter and Dexter

I was thrilled when I received this photo from Diane...of her handsome Dexter next to his painting. I love it when people send these to me! She also wrote a very nice blog post about it...so thank you Diane. That made my day!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. Maisie and James enjoyed their turkey...and I stuffed my face with everything else. Just put some vegetarian stuffing and Uncle Fred's cranberry dish in front of me...and I'm a happy camper!

Hey, have you seen this adorable coaster set from Aunt Sadie's? I love 'em!

Have a good Monday and happy almost December!

Here Kitty Kitty...

"Dexter"
12" x 13" acrylic on canvas

Hi everyone...just finished this commission yesterday of Dexter the Cat. He's a handsome fellow with those big green eyes, isn't he? Dexter belongs to Diane Silveria of Diane's Mixed Art. Go check out her blog, her beautiful cats and birds and her wonderful art. Thanks for having me paint your sweet boy, Diane!

Back soon with another new painting. Have a good Thursday!

I'm Back with a Bunny!

"Nana in the Moonlight"
8" x 8" acrylic on canvas

Hi everyone...here's my latest. This is a sweet bunny named Nana that belongs to a very good friend of mine in California. I did this for her as a wedding present because she and her husband LOVE bunnies! Maisie wasn't very happy that I was choosing to paint a bunny over a dog...but I think she's over that now. Too many other bunnies in the yard to patrol and think about!

Two Peas in a POD

Go ahead...you can say it, Linda is a blog slacker! I've been trying to keep caught up with things...but I forgot how time consuming it is to move! I've been swept up in a vortex of change and movement this past year, so landing on my feet in our new home will surely feel good.

This past week, our main goal was to unload our basement and some large furniture pieces into the wicked POD (as we call it now!). There was a lot of lifting, carrying, loading and cleaning (oh and a little cussing too)...during the hottest few days we've had here in Boulder! We did it though and made our deadline...the house went on the market yesterday. The POD is now back in POD-land and will re-appear when we move. What a great invention. Bless the POD.

I'm trying to focus on some painting the next few days so I hope to have something to show you very soon. In the meantime...enjoy the work of Timothy Chapman, an Artist from this area I truly admire. His animal paintings are amazing...check more of them out at Visions West Gallery of Denver.

Is it Monday already?

Well that was one fast weekend! Hope you all had a good one. On Saturday, Melissa Langer and I spent the afternoon together in Boulder. We had lots of great art talk and fun meandering around. We went to our favorite paper store and found some very cool goodies...although we had to talk each other down from spending WAY too much moolah. My credit card thanks you, Melissa!

So have you taken the "What Celebrity Is Your Dog" Quiz yet by Dogster.com? Well Maisie and Melissa's Pug, Emmitt took it. Apparently, Maisie is Madonna...and Emmitt is George Clooney. I can sort of see the resemblance, can't you?

And on another note, you probably remember when I recently posted about Leslie Moore and her beautiful animal drawings? Well Leslie has a new blog now...so please go visit her and welcome her to blogland! Below is another one of Leslie's drawings that reminds me of Maisie. Really lovely work, Leslie!

More O'Neill art to come soon! Have a good art day!

A New Cat in Town

"Brisbane"
5" x 7" pencil, crayon and collage on bfk paper

Maisie doesn't like me to draw cats very often...but this was an exception. A friend commissioned me to draw Brisbane...a wonderful girl who is no longer with us. Her mom, Patricia misses her very much so it was an honor for me to create this portrait for her. I love the color of her eyes! I used to do these mixed media drawings quite often and still really enjoy doing one now and then.

And hey...there's an Artist out there I just met this week that you should know about. Her drawings of animals are really exquisite. Her name is Leslie Moore from PenPets.com Leslie grew up in the Bay Area but has lived in New England for the past 25 years. Nice to know you, Leslie...you do beautiful work!
