Miss Accident Prone

Maisie and her boo boo

For those of you who haven't been following my facebook page, you probably don't know that my accident prone dog, Maisie had a "squirrel chasing incident" over the weekend. She tore her carpal pad almost completely off so our Vet had to take the rest of it off and sew her back up. At least this time (remember the broken toe?) she only has to have the bandage on for two weeks instead of two months. No dog parkin' and no play dates though and she is not too happy about that!

Sooo...I won't be blogging again until next week as James is in Chicago and I have full Maisie supervision duty so she won't chew off her bandage. If she does she might have to face THE CONE and we don't like to talk about that around here. I'll be painting...but sporadically until James gets back on Friday.

Coupla things that might be of interest to you today though...I discovered this Artist when we were in Denver for our anniversary and thought her work was pretty amazing and unique. Also recently came across this blog that I thought you might enjoy too.

Have a good week! See you soon!

Weekend of Art Snooping

Hi everyone...thanks for the nice anniversary wishes! James and I had a great time celebrating in Denver over the weekend.

We both wanted to see lots of art while we were there so we went to several galleries and the Denver Art Museum. The main draw for me at the museum was a new exhibit by Fritz Scholder, one of my favorite American Artists. The exhibit was called, "A New Indian Image" and he had some fantastic paintings and prints on display.

The other exhibit we saw was an installation by Sandy Skogland called "Fox Games". The photo below is only a partial view of the entire piece. You can actually walk through the installation and experience this awesome scene as if you were in it. It was truly mind altering. It looked a little like "Maisie" dogs gone wild!

Last but not least, we went to one of our favorite cooperative galleries called, "Zip 37". We both really enjoyed the work of Denver Artist, Danyl Cook. Danyl had a solo exhibit which included several small 6" x 6" portrait paintings that we just loved. My favorite one was the one below, his self-portrait.

So now that I've been inspired by so many incredible Artists...I'd best get back to painting! Hope to show you some new work very soon.

April is Cancer Awareness month...so what better time to launch the PAWS for Charity Art Book! As of today, you can purchase a soft or hardcover version of the book here at Blurb.com. This would make a wonderful gift for anyone in your life...plus all funds raised from the sale of these books are donated to The Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade.
